International Nationals Field For Speedway City
Phil Michell posted Tuesday January 26, 2010.

Last weekends Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic winner Shane Stewart is the latest American driver to confirm their entry for this Saturday nights (January 30) Jack Daniels Racing Australian Sprintcar Nationals at Speedway City. Stewart was the inaugural winner of this prestigious race back in the 2004/05 season and he joins fellow countrymen Jason Johnson, Danny Smith and Wayne Johnson in the 34 car field.

Along with the four American stars the field includes a whole host of the touring World Series Sprintcars contracted drivers therefore it could actually be dubbed as an “unofficial” WSS show. Currently 10 of the 13 contracted drivers have entered including last seasons Nationals Champion Brooke Tatnell, Robbie Farr, Max Dumesny, David Murcott, Danny Reidy, Steve Caunt, Ricky Maiolo, Bryan Mann, Johnson and Smith.

Adding to all star cast will be a number of other drivers cable of upsetting the drivers already listed including three times South Australian Champion Steven Lines, current Track Championship leader Jamie Cobby, Luke Dillon, Matt Egel, Victorian Nick Lacey, Phil March, Alan Barlee, Daryl Clayden, Daniel Pestka and Mark Reuter.

To go along with this extremely talented line-up for the sixth edition of this great race is an exciting and unique race format that was put together by Track Promoter Wendy Turner and the current Champion Brooke Tatnell. It will comprise of the standard two rounds of seeded heat races before the top point scorers go into a series of head to head match races to decide the starting order for the 35 lap $10,000 to win A-Main.

So if you have down at Warrnambool over the past few days and you want to extend your Sprintcar experience a little longer or if you are simply an occasional race fan then Speedway City is the place to be this weekend.
