25th Anniversary Sprintcar Masters
Speedway City posted Friday November 5, 2010.
This Saturday Night (November 6) the 25th Anniversary of the Australian Sprintcar Masters will be conducted at Adelaide’s Speedway City with a field of 22 cars entered for this historic event. The entry list for the Masters, which will be proudly supported by Oxford Insurance Brokers, is headlined by defending race Champion David Murcott, current Australian Champion James McFadden, Albury’s Grant Anderson and locals Luke Dillon, Trevor Green and last weekends feature winner Jamie Cobby.
In addition to the likes of the drivers already mentioned the talented field also includes crowd favourite Phil March, Matt Egel, Deniliquin’s Eddie Lumbar, Nick Lacey, Ryan Jones, Ricky Maiolo, Glen Sutherland, Justin Sloan and Brad Keller so the racing should be quite intense.
Also on the program are the 360ci Sprintcars with a nomination list of 12 drivers for round 2 of the Revolution Racegear Track Championship including last weekend’s winner Darryl Wright, Shane and Jamie Hendry, Shannon Barry, Chad Ely and Clinton Oliver. An interesting aspect of the 360ci field is the addition of Brendan Quinn, Brendan Guerin and Mason Merritt to the Division 1 field after making their debut in Division 2 last week.
The Sedan fans haven’t been forgotten either with Round 2 of the JD Couriers Super Sedan Track Championship and the season debut of the crowd pleasing Street Stocks. Last weekend the opening round of the JD Series went to three time Champion Shane Best in dramatic fashion after a race long battle with Gil Worthley. Round 1 runner-up Steve Stewart will also be back along with Australia #2 Dave Gartner, Bill Miller, Steve Vaughan, Kym Leyson and Victorian Zack Calderwell.
Gates will open to the general public at 4:30pm with racing starting at 6pm.
