SPRINTCAR MASTERS SET FOR SPEEDWAY CITY THIS SATURDAY!

Australia's Best Sprintcar drivers are in town this weekend for the 29th Running of the Oxford Insurance Brokers Australian Sprintcar Masters. A star studded field has nominated for the first big show of the season at Virginia.
Australian Champion David Murcott headlines the impressive list in the Horell Motorsports #1 machine along with Former World Series Champion Robbie Farr, Reigning World Series Champ Steven Lines, Former National champion James McFadden in the newly livered RMGH machine #25, Former Classic winner Trevor Green #11. Bill Wigzell Battle of the Bridge winner Dylan Jenkin #51 is also in the field along with the runner up Warrnambool's Darren Mollenoyux Warrnambool Crane Hire #77. They will be joined by fellow interstate stars Jason Pryde, Taylor Milling & Fast lady Rhiannon Burleigh who makes her Speedway City Debut this week.
They will all be joined by the ever growing list of SA local drivers which now exceeds 20 cars. They include The Caruso brothers Steve and Mark who will hope to continue their impressive run from two weeks ago, The Pitt Brothers Terry & Hayden will be looking for a good showing with the latter having a good run at the WSS events here last season. Luke Dillon will be better for the practice run last week in the Downing Bros #97 and will be one of the pre-race favourites. The Speedway City Young Guns will be out in force with last start winner in the 360 Mayors Cup Brendan Quinn, Scott Bogucki, Brendan Guerin,, Luke Bowey, Keke Falland, Adam Currie, rookie Aidan Hall, and current track champ Brad Keller. Another pre-race favourite is Matt Egel who will be looking for a change of luck after a horrible night at Murray Bridge two weeks ago. Picking the trifecta wont be an easy task this week. The "Time Trial Format" will be utilised this week with the all important Qualifying to determine the heat grids then the 6-lap "Top 6 Dash", B-Main and the all important 35-lap Masters Final. Support racing will come in the form of Invitation fields for the Wingless Sprints this week but the talent on show is first class, last weeks Feature winner Jarman Dalitz will headline the field with Todd Wigzell, Joel Chadwick, Robert Heard, Matthew Kennedy amongst the field. The first appearance of the Late Models this summer will also be worth viewing with an impressive 11 nominations with Matt Crimmins headlining the list with Steve Vaughan, Andrew Leach, Mat Nulty, Darryle Launer, Stuey Hill amongst the field, the return of the McCarthys in Mark and Cary this summer will increase competition. The ever entertaining Street Stocks will also be in attendance and I'm sure they will keep the crowd entertained with the close racing they've provided so far this season. There will be a PIT PARTY from 3-4pm so come early to see the drivers and their transporters and grab a souvenir or two. The earth will shake this Saturday so get your "backside trackside" to Speedway City for the Australian Sprintcar Masters... Who will be the Masters King for 2014?
