QSS SHOOTOUT HEADS INTO ADELAIDE THIS WEEK AS SERIES HOTS UP
Finish Line Media posted Tuesday November 25, 2014.

After a four week break the Queensland Speedway Spares SA Sprintcar Shootout resumes this week at Speedway City in Adelaide with a quality twenty car field nominated.

Early indications are that this Saturday could shape the upcoming rounds with several non-contracted drivers who are in contention, not running this weekend due to other commitments.

The round is the first of three rounds in three weekends at three different tracks leading into the Christmas break.

Points leader Scott Bogucki is one of those who will not be in action this week leaving the door open for his rivals to close in on the points gap while 3rd placed Ryan Jones will also be absent this week due to his racing commitments in Western Australia. This leaves the likes of Round 1 winner Dylan Jenkin, 4th placed Luke Dillon, Steven Caruso (5th), Mark Caruso (7th), & Keke Falland (8th) all to make some serious inroads as will other inside the top 20.

The Pitt Brothers had a Sprintcar Masters they would rather forget and will be looking for a fresh start this weekend with both cars failing to get past the first round of heats last time out. With Terry back in 15th place and Hayden 19th they are also playing catch up this week and will want to set themselves up heading into a new year. Leith Ahlfors (20th) and Luke Bowey (14th) could also fit into that category after horrendous starts to the season they will be looking for a better showing this weekend.

The driver who could be one to watch is Brendan Quinn after already taken out two 360 A Main wins this season could his luck transfer into his maiden 410 feature win?

Round 1 winner Dylan Jenkin will like his chances this week after being very competitive on every outing this summer. The likable Bordertown resident could extend his points haul inside the top 3.

Luke Dillon will be very keen for Saturday to come this week as he could be sitting in the series lead come the end of the Main event should everything fall into place.

Broken Hill's Brendan Guerin (13th) has been consistent this season to this point and could be well inside the top 10 as he does go quite well at Speedway City. His run at Mt Gambier two weeks ago was very impressive amongst some other fancied drivers.

Williamstown's Justin Sloan (16th) has been steady after a season off and another run this week will benefit him greatly. Round 1 he was in good form qualifying directly into the A Main.

One driver who has been relatively quiet for his standards is Brad Keller the Peter Page Holden speedster gained a 6th at the Sprintcar Masters four weeks back but after a poor Round 1 he will be looking to advance up the points order this week his languishing back in 12th place at the moment. While he is not a contracted driver he has elected to run at Speedway City this week rather than travel to Warrnambool.

Other drivers in action this week include the season debut of Mark Reuter, rookies Brock Hallett and Aidan Hall who will be looking to impress while Gawler's Ricky Maiolo will be hoping the engine demons from the previous weeks are behind them.

All drivers will contest two heats each to qualify for the all-important 25-lap final to see who will be the QSS SA Sprintcar Shootout round winner. Be at Speedway City to see how it all unfolds. This is best domestic field seen at Speedway City for some time.
